Based in Washington, D.C., the American Institute of Architects (AIA) is the leading professional membership association for licensed architects, with nearly 300 state and local chapters across the country.

The AIA recognized that often there is a lack of awareness among the general public about the amazing contributions and vision that architects bring to everyday communities. CSpence bridged the gap between architects and the general public by producing an original short film and hosting a film competition challenge to crowd-source original video content that generates multi-channel engagement. With both endeavors, CSpence has increased awareness of the profession and enhanced the image of the industry.

Since its inaugural launch in 2015, the I Look Up film challenge has been incredibly successful. In its first year, the competition brought in nearly 69 million impressions total. This was just the beginning, however. In 2016, with a mixture of new digital and experiential campaign elements, we were able to break our previous record, closing the competition with 78.9 million total impressions. By engaging people where they were, we continued bolstering the profiles of architects doing good and making change in their communities.

And we look forward to doing even more in 2017.
